About Gregg Masters

Gregg Masters is an inspirational author, thinker and speaker who's daily thoughts, blog and more are known as "A Common Man's Wisdom." Gregg's professional life, whether in Radio, Television or any of his other jobs, allowed him to travel and explore both places and people of all kinds. Ironically, it wasn't these experiences that had the biggest impact on him. In 2008, Gregg suffered a disabling back injury. During this time, Gregg was presented with the option to look at life with anger and cynicism over his injury and pain or to look for the opportunities it might present. He chose the latter. After looking within himself and as he says "Seeing what I was made of, and what made me tick," Gregg began sharing some of his thoughts. First on Facebook, Twitter and with others he was speaking to. As Gregg's thoughts, insights, and understanding continued to grow so did his social media presence. Soon, he began collecting his thoughts, ideas, affirmations and meditations in a series of books titled "A Common Man's Wisdom."

Back To Normal Isn’t Enough!

[caption id="attachment_2119" align="alignnone" width="270"] Back to normal doesn’t cut it! We not only should, but must create a new normal that is better, more fitting and more loving than where we’ve been living! If we choose to strive for what we had, it’s regression. If we choose to strive for what we’ve dreamt about it’s what we deserve. Look beyond the roadblocks of mediocrity that others will throw up.  Choose to advance yourself, your family, you community and country to a new normal that is worthy of who we strive to be by realizing and achieving first what we need and then what we want and then what we couldn’t even dare to dream of!

Just One More Breath. Just One More…

In the course of a day, the average person will take about 20,000 breaths.  Taking in the oxygen and breathing out carbon dioxide is what keeps us alive. 20,000 times a day we do this, most of the time without even noticing it.

Right now though, there are thousands of people who want just one more breath. Just one more! Their lungs are burning from the lack of air and their cough just won’t stop. Their eyes water and they are scared. They are scared of not seeing their loved ones again. They are scared of dying. They have the Coronavirus and they are scared. They want just one more breath. Just one more, then another, then another, etc…

So the next time you think Covid-19 is fake news or the next time you aren’t wearing a mask, remember these folks want just one more breath. Just one more. The next time you complain when schools or business are closed, remember that the people who want just one more breath. Just one more! You can kill yourself if you want to, but not your family and friends or the kids down the street battling leukemia or someone you’ve never met before that might have a chronic health condition. So, put your big boy pants on or your big girl pants on and start acting like acting like an adult. Wear a damn mask! Social Distance. Wash your hands. Wait… I’m not done. Check in on your elderly friends and family. Check in on those with chronic health concerns. Do what you can to help those who are struggling physically, mentally, spiritually and/or financially. If you’re in a position to help, then help. If you can’t help, then find another way to help!

Finally, USE YOUR HEAD!!! Find your common sense and use it. Now more than ever before it is a matter of life and death.   During your everyday lives, remember those who want just one more breath. Just one more!

Stay Safe and Stay Healthy.

Welcome To The “Yeah But…” Generation And It’s Embarrassing!

Welcome To The “Yeah But…” Generation And It’s Embarrassing!

Every generation seems to have its own identity. The one that most often comes to mind is The Greatest Generation.  That moniker is perfect to explain the sacrifice and the grit they needed to face its challenges and then save the free world. Today we are facing some real and troubling challenges too, but instead of facing and solving them, our choice is to shift the blame or make excuses by saying “Yeah but…” Lots of talk, not much action and it’s all about “Yeah but what can you do for me” instead caring at all for the rest of the people in.  Blind yourself to the facts and the truth and instead manufacture your own false reality.

Don’t believe me? Well do any of these sound familiar?

••You know you should be wearing a mask.

“Yeah but it’s my right not to. Don’t tread on my personal liberties!”

••The coronavirus is spreading more…

“Yeah but those numbers are fake.”

••The scientists all agree that…

“Yeah but they’re all part of the deep state. “

••Character matters!

“Yeah but he’s authentic”

••We have a systemic race problem in this country.

“Yeah but it doesn’t affect me?”

••The State says that it’s not safe for the coaches or the players and highschool sports should be shut down until it is.

“Yeah but my kid deserves to play. They want to play. It’s not right and it’s not fair!”

••We all must accept restrictions in our community now, otherwise we’ll be worse off later.

“Yeah but I’ll take care of my family my own way. You have no right to tell us what to do“

••The law says…

“Yeah but I know better. Screw the law! I’m not gonna do it!”

••I saw on the news that…

“Yeah but FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS, FAKE NEWS”

••More than 228,000 people have died because of Covid—19.

“Yeah but I don’t believe those numbers. “

••Do you have a responsibility to your neighbors and family members and even people you meet to be safe and keep them healthy?

“Yeah but what about me? If they don’t like it, get out of my way “

••Shouldn’t we all come together to find a way to fix what’s broken?

“Yeah but I, I, I and me, me, me and don’t take away my rights and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah…”

Congratulations to the YEAH BUT… generation. Quite an accomplishment. Quite an embarrassment. Blind yourself to the facts and the truth and instead manufacture your own false reality.

The path that “Yeah but…” takes us down ends in ruin. It’s not too late to switch paths and believe the facts, believe in science, believe in your neighbor. Believe in the truth.

Stay Healthy and Stay Safe
