About Gregg Masters

Gregg Masters is an inspirational author, thinker and speaker who's daily thoughts, blog and more are known as "A Common Man's Wisdom." Gregg's professional life, whether in Radio, Television or any of his other jobs, allowed him to travel and explore both places and people of all kinds. Ironically, it wasn't these experiences that had the biggest impact on him. In 2008, Gregg suffered a disabling back injury. During this time, Gregg was presented with the option to look at life with anger and cynicism over his injury and pain or to look for the opportunities it might present. He chose the latter. After looking within himself and as he says "Seeing what I was made of, and what made me tick," Gregg began sharing some of his thoughts. First on Facebook, Twitter and with others he was speaking to. As Gregg's thoughts, insights, and understanding continued to grow so did his social media presence. Soon, he began collecting his thoughts, ideas, affirmations and meditations in a series of books titled "A Common Man's Wisdom."

Expect What You Deserve

What you expect to find is most often what you will find! Expect negativity and you’ll seek it out. Expect positivity and you’ll find yourself seeking that out and that is what you’ll find. Follow this road and  pretty soon you’ll expect to find the positive even in the most negative situations. That’s when you know you’ve begun to really live the kind of life you deserve!  Peace       …..Gregg

What You Do Today Will Change The World… Better or Worse Is Up To You!

It is not overstating it to say that what you do today will change the world forever. Whether you believe that or not, will affect the outcome of each day.  So if you choose not to get the Covid—19 vaccine and instead allow yourself to possibly become an incubator for future mutations, you’re affecting the rest of us. (FYI…the same goes for the rest of the vaccines)  So have you made the world better or worse? At the end of the day you’re making the world worse.  If you choose to turn away when others are being bigoted or hateful, at the end of the day you’re making the world worse.  If you live within a self made world of illusion instead of facts, you’re making the world worse.  If you spend more time making excuses than finding reasons then you’ve made the world worse. If at the end of the day you find that you’ve complained more than you’ve complemented, you’ve made the world worse. Be aware! Be aware not only of where you are and how you are, but be aware of who you are! Be aware of the opportunities to be grateful, to learn lessons and to show others the kind of kindness and empathy that we were all meant to have.  Finally, remember that regardless, with each step we take we will change something about the world we all live in. Do your best to make each change, a change for the better. If enough of us do that each and every day, we’ll make progress and so will the world.  Peace      …..Gregg

Don’t Be Voluntarily Ignorant!

Way too often over the last few years people have passed it off as “alternative facts,” fake news, lack of conscience, lies, fear, stupidity, but it’s none of those. What it is, is Voluntary Ignorance!  Whether it’s Covid-19, election results, mask wearing, diversity, racial inequity, the latest head shaker…who actually attacked the Capitol on January 6th or vaccinations,  it is nothing but voluntary ignorance! I guess to put it in plain terms, people we might work with, let teach our kids, walk by us on the street or those we live with are choosing to lie to themselves, their families and friends, their towns, states and country and most sadly, they are lying straight to our faces while lying to themselves.  The thing is, voluntary ignorance begins much earlier and happens much more than we admit. (Yes, even more voluntary ignorance!) How often have you turned your head or looked the other way so you don’t have to admit something? Maybe it was for one of your children, spouse, friend, coworker, etc? Even worse, maybe it was when you did or said something or didn’t do or say something and then found a handy excuse to hide behind. Voluntary ignorance. Well these things have a way of multiplying (like all lies do) into much bigger and much more complex problems. And here we are… The only way to stop voluntary ignorance is from the inside out! Recognize it and the stop it first within each of us. Then recognize it in others. Then call it out. Then urge others to do the same. Then appreciate and compliment and help all of those you see who are fighting the same fight you are.  Voluntary ignorance can be overcome! Voluntary ignorance only dies in the shadows of facts, conscience, wisdom and gratitude.  I believe in you.  I just hope you believe in you as much as I do! Peace      …..Gregg
