About Gregg Masters

Gregg Masters is an inspirational author, thinker and speaker who's daily thoughts, blog and more are known as "A Common Man's Wisdom." Gregg's professional life, whether in Radio, Television or any of his other jobs, allowed him to travel and explore both places and people of all kinds. Ironically, it wasn't these experiences that had the biggest impact on him. In 2008, Gregg suffered a disabling back injury. During this time, Gregg was presented with the option to look at life with anger and cynicism over his injury and pain or to look for the opportunities it might present. He chose the latter. After looking within himself and as he says "Seeing what I was made of, and what made me tick," Gregg began sharing some of his thoughts. First on Facebook, Twitter and with others he was speaking to. As Gregg's thoughts, insights, and understanding continued to grow so did his social media presence. Soon, he began collecting his thoughts, ideas, affirmations and meditations in a series of books titled "A Common Man's Wisdom."

The Key Is In The Lock

What if we were all born with love and hate, acceptance and denial and every other trait we can recognize in life already inside of us? All of them just waiting to be “let out from behind the doors where they are locked up.” The only catch is that we first must “turn the key” to open that door. At first, it’s our parents who help us unlock those feelings. As time goes on, it’s other family, friends, outsiders, authors, philosophers, musicians, TV, the internet along with random thoughts and ideas we pick up as we move along in life that all allow access to these sacred doors we have. Everything that is good, just and right is unlocked for us to recognize. Then, somewhere along the line, we stop wanting those doors to be open and we close some of them for various reasons.. At the same time, we begin to open doors of doubt, hate, selfishness, jealousy among many others. We decide that we’re going to stop marveling at all sides of a question or situation and instead see only one small viewpoint that we convince ourselves is the whole truth. The good news is that we can, at any time in our lives, in the matter of an instant…close the doors of doubt and pain and open the doors that mean we’ll begin living our lives instead of convincing ourselves that we’ve been robbed of it! The key to every “door” we have is still in the lock! All you need to do is reach out and turn it!   Peace…   Gregg

PAY IT FORWARD

We all hear the phrase Pay It Forward and think to ourselves what a great concept it is! And……then we move on with our life and somewhere in all of the noise, Pay It Forward gets lost. Well, today you and I are gonna give it another shot! Here’s all you have to do. Find a way to help someone, somewhere in your life. Might be big or small, expensive or not. Give an unexpected positive jolt to someone and improve their lives and yours too.  Now, contact a friend or a loved one and challenge them to do a small act of compassion for someone. Once they complete the challenge, ask them to challenge one of their friends or loved ones. With these simple and easy steps you might be the beginning of a movement that helps more people than you could ever imagine and all you need to do is help someone else, for “no reason at all!” Peace…   Gregg

The insincerity of trying to be sincere

The insincerity of trying to be sincere

There are so many different opportunities we have every day to be sincere and we often give it our best try, but in the final analysis, we aren’t. That doesn’t mean your a bad person, it just means you’re human. Think about it, we shake hands with someone and it’s just two hands meeting instead of what a handshake is supposed to be. Sometimes we hug others, even our friends or family and we hug by barely touching each other and most certainly aren’t conveying anything other than a quick “Hi” followed by “let’s move on now!”
